1.first in the search box type Control Panel.and double click on control panel icon

2.In control panel search box type Services.and click on view local services

3.In the services window scroll down and find Windows update.click on it

4.In windows update properties click on the startup type drop down menu and select disable 

5.In service status click on stop if it appear 

6.Click apply and ok.

Done that's all you have to do.now windows update is turned off.if you want to turn it on again.reverse this steps.and choose enable and start.
